Getting Started with Telegram Analytics

This guide will walk you through the process of setting up Telegram Analytics for your channels and accessing your first insights.

Prerequisites​

Before you begin, make sure you have:

Setup Process​

Step 1: Connect Your Channel​

  1. Log in to your Telegram Analytics dashboard
  2. Click on "Add Channel" in the top right corner
  3. Choose one of the following methods to connect your channel:

Method A: Using the Telegram Analytics Bot​

  1. Add @TelegramAnalyticsBot to your channel as an administrator
  2. Grant the bot the following permissions:
    • Read messages
    • View channel statistics
  3. Send the command /connect in your channel
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection

Method B: API Token Connection​

For users who prefer not to add a bot to their channel:

  1. Generate an API token from your Telegram account
  2. Enter the token in the Telegram Analytics dashboard
  3. Verify ownership through the provided verification process

Step 2: Configure Data Collection​

After connecting your channel, you'll need to configure what data you want to collect:

  • Basic Analytics: Subscriber count, views, and shares
  • Advanced Engagement: Reaction analysis, retention metrics
  • Content Performance: Post-by-post analysis and comparisons

Select your preferred options and click "Save Configuration."

Step 3: Access Your Dashboard​

Once setup is complete, you'll be redirected to your analytics dashboard. Here you'll find:

  • Overview: Key metrics at a glance
  • Growth: Subscriber growth charts and projections
  • Content: Post performance analysis
  • Audience: Insights about your subscribers
  • Reports: Scheduled and custom reports

First Steps​

Now that you're set up, here are some recommended first steps:

  1. Review Historical Data: Telegram Analytics will immediately start processing available historical data
  2. Set Up Alerts: Configure notifications for important events like unusual subscriber drops or viral posts
  3. Schedule Reports: Set up weekly or monthly reports to be delivered to your email

Troubleshooting​

If you encounter any issues during setup:

  • Bot Not Responding: Ensure the bot has proper administrator permissions
  • Data Not Appearing: Initial data processing can take up to 24 hours
  • Connection Errors: Verify your internet connection and try again
